This week is full of several opportunities to interact with Charles Hill, a distinguished US diplomat and IU Patten Lecturer. Check to see if one or more of them fits your schedule!

1. Biography: 

Charles Hill is the Brady-Johnson Distinguished Fellow in Grand Strategy and lecturer in International studies at Yale University and a research fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Hill’s diplomatic career included working at the U.S. consulate in Hong Kong during China’s Cultural Revolution, serving as mission coordinator in Saigon near the end of the Vietnam War, participating in the Panama Canal Treaty talks, and playing a role in developing the Camp David Accords.

• Join Charles Hill in the Dean’s Conference Room (SPEA 300) for an informal chat on contemporary foreign affairs. 
• Don’t forget to brush up on current events!

Wednesday 3:30 - 5:00pm (Georgian Room, IMU):

• The 2012 Patten Lectureship, titled “A Deadline for Engagement? Perspectives on post-conflict policy in the Middle-East” 
• Three presentations: Ambassador Feisal Istrabadi, “The Fallout from the US Decision to Leave Iraq”; Dr. John Karaagac, SPEA, “A Comparison of Bush and Obama Policies in the Middle East”; Mr. Charles Hill, US Foreign Service and United Nations. 

Wednesday 12:00 – 1:30 (Federal Room, IMU):

• Graduate Student Luncheon Round-table.
